The ultimate, original half day Wilderness Jet boat adventure takes you on an unforgettable journey along the braided, glacier-fed Dart River. With unrivalled National Park access, we cover up to 90km of river on a trip making Dart River Adventures the longest jet boat ride in the region. This relaxed pace tour is ideal for those looking to take their time and make the most of being in this phenomenal place. With plenty of time to connect with the area and take in the scenery, your guides give you their authentic touch, sharing stories of the area’s rich history, the Greenstone trail and renowned Māori legends.
The ever-changing environment makes every trip unique. With daily and seasonal changes to the flora and fauna, colour of the bush, river structure & colour, water clarity, birds, wildlife and snow level, returning for a second adventure can mean you explore a whole new world.
The 2 hour Wilderness Jet experience departs twice daily, from Thursday - Monday. Our morning tour includes bus transport from Queenstown to Glenorchy, while the afternoon tour excludes transport and departs from Glenorchy.
Return transport from central Queenstown to Glenorchy is included on the morning departure of our 2 hour Wilderness Jet tour, with the bus departing at 8:30am. Passengers are required to check in at the Dart River Adventures Queenstown booking office 15 minutes prior to departure.
The afternoon tour of Wilderness Jet tour departs at 1pm from the Dart Visitor Centre in Glenorchy. Passengers are required to check in 15 minutes prior to departure.
If opting to self drive, we recommend allowing a minimum of 1 hour for the journey each way to allow time to stop for photos. The lakeside road to Glenorchy is one of the most scenic drives in the world!
Minimum child height is 100cm, but may be increased to 120cm in some river conditions.
This experience is not suitable for pregnant women, those with specific medical conditions, including people who suffer from back or neck injuries. Please contact us prior to booking so we can assess and advise your suitability to travel.
